The dogs were allowed to prove themselves as swimmers with the doggie lifejacket. An ingenious invention. Each dog had its own take on the doggy paddle. Maeby, ever the nervous nellie, was fast and confident but incredibly difficult to control or communicate with. Petrie, on the other hand, was slow but surprisingly methodical, calm and improved greatly.

Everyone found a way to relax.

My favorite might have been the sunset kayak cruise, despite the strenuous paddle home.
The next day we awoke to another bright and sunny day. But, alas, it was not to be. The fog rolled in and despite everyone’s optimism did not “burn off” until it was just slightly too late. But the weather was warm all day and talk of Olympics transformed into an epic matchup of Flipcup where the two teams literally tied, not once, but twice.
In the end we finally did finish that puzzle. But not before we realized that sometimes the piece you are looking for is the one that’s staring you right in the face, or perhaps the one you dropped on the ground, but more often than not, I’m guessing that piece is the one that’s pressed into your forearm.
…just like dating.
