Pride 2010

Many of us are looking back on Pride and the conflicting feelings we have. We find ourselves publicly shaming ourselves in celebration of our pride; this is a simple cliche. We feel shamed because we were drunk or high or tired or not thinking clearly, but you know what? We were with our friends and that’s what we should be proud of.A deserted Dolores Park is a beautiful place. The perfect place to wish Danny a happy 25th birthday and a goodbye for now.Jorge has purchased a smart phone. Like a tiny boombox sent from the Toyota factory, it gives us the tinny tunes we request, but at a price. Shhh, not while the phone is talking. We did some things at night at a place they call “Mighty”. The beginning of our weekend was a success, we emerged unbroken. And with all of our finest moments, the pictures will not be the proof of greatness. On Saturday, blissfully unaware of the shadow of death, we adventured through the city, to the edge of the Tenderloin and back. Friends, let’s never walk Market Street again.Friends old and new, we saw them all this past weekend. Too bad you have to take an Advil to get rid of ‘em. Happy Pride!
